The Vacoa lamp honors the weaving of vacoa, a typical skill of Reunion Island craftsmanship.

It is accompanied by concrete beads.

The vacoa tree grows mainly on the south and east coast of Réunion. Looking like a sunshade, it might look like a palm tree, but it doesn’t belong to the same family.

Exploited for its pimpin fruit, it is mainly used for basketry and the creation of bertelles (Creole backpack), large woven bags intended for the storage of freshly picked fruit.
